In recent years surfing has become more popular in Nicaragua. Today this sport is practiced mostly in the south pacific of Nicaragua where magnificent bays warmly welcome surfers from all over the world. Due to the small number of visitors, each surfing site is unspoiled with no crowds. Ranging from hollow beach breaks to incredible point breaks, surfers of all skill levels are sure to find something to their liking. In addition, the prevailing winds blow offshore nearly every day of the year, grooming the powerful surf into clean, hollow lines. This activity has woken up the interest of locals thus bringing emerging surfing schools, instructors, surf shops, board-rentals, and other economic activities related to this growing sport in our country.
