CHOCOYERO-EL BRUJO NATURE RESERVE
It is a great place for getting in touch with nature in a dry tropical forest. The Chocoyero Reserve is located 30 kilometers (18 miles) southwest of the capital city of Managua and it is home to a wide biodiversity of flora and fauna within its 185 hectares (455 acres). There are about 113 bird species including hummingbirds, toucans, wrens, and the most famous inhabitant the “Chocoyo Coludo” or “Green Parakeet”.
The rich wildlife also includes 29 species of mammals and 21 species of reptiles and amphibians. The vegetation is lush and beautiful and if you pay careful attention on the tree tops during the day you will be able to see howler monkeys and even the white-faced monkeys.
